Michael David Callahan, age 47, died December 28, 2018. He was born April 2, 1971 in Indianapolis, Indiana at Methodist Hospital.
Michael is survived by his wife Laura Gilyeat Callahan and children Rachel (Chad) Monday, Kaitlin Hayworth, and Andrew Hayworth. Survivors also include his parents Linda Arthur Callahan & David Callahan; sisters Tammy (Tim) Swisher; and Kristen (Doug) Daye. As well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & cousins.
Michael graduated from Avon High School in 1990 and attended Vincennes University and Ivy Tech Community College. He was a proud member of the Boy Scouts of America for many years and obtained his Eagle Scout rank at sixteen. Michael often volunteered his time as an adult at Camp Belzer Cub Scout Day Camp whenever time permitted. His interests varied from working on cars, obtaining a black belt in Taekwondo, an admiration for planes, space and fast cars, to his love of traveling. Michael’s deep love and devotion to his family, animals, and music was always at the center of his life.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250.

I never knew Michael, but do know his wife. My heart goes out to Laura and her Children.
Terribly sad for them all. I too lost my husband not two year ago yet. I hope I can help her as she helped me.

We all ask the question, why is someone so young taken from us. Only the Lord knows. You have a loving family and friends that acknowledge that you left your footprint on Mother Earth while you were with us. We will miss you Mike. Rest in peace little buddy.

I am so glad that we were all able to see Mike at the Wedding, and so happy that he got to see his daughter get married. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. To Rachel, my granddaughter- We LOVE you so much and are sorry for your loss.
